Wannaska Parish Elizabeth Moreira
December 12, 2006
Pastor Jim Holthus (depicted here in snow by Lutheran Campus Ministry students at Bemidji State University) spoke December 9 at the three churches of Wannaska Lutheran Parish: Pine Grove, Bethesda and Riverside. The parish council decided to take one month’s portion of income designated as parish support and pass it on to LCMM. Rev. Paul Koch wrote in a recent newsletter, “Our college students need our prayers and support, as do the ministers who serve them. I give thanks to God for the generosity of this parish. It is amazing what we can do together for the sake of the gospel. By our gift to LCMM we are able to help pay those who labor in our behalf to serve our sons and daughters who are away from us.” The LCMM Board appreciates the support and generosity of Wannaska Parish.

LCMM Support and Development
As we round the corner into this season of thanks and anticipation again this year, I am reminded of how much we at Lutheran Campus Ministry are blessed. No matter what challenges we face or what uncertainties cloud the horizon, we are reminded in this season that we are also upheld and surrounded by the faithful promise of God.
The ELCA continues to struggle through tight financial times and that means difficulties for partner ministries like us as well. Nevertheless, the staff continues to be blessed with opportunities to meet amazing students.
In this season of harvest and thanksgiving, of promise and anticipation, I invite you to prayerfully consider a gift to Lutheran Campus Mininstry of Minnesota.
The staff, students, and board of LCMM give thanks for you this season. Your friendship in support of and financial gifts to this ministry help to ensure that lives will continue to be touched as we proclaim the Gospel, nurture faith, and inspire leaders on state campuses across Minnesota.
